The Mulbery silk yarn is procured from Bangalore region. This sarees is hand woven in Banaras. Wide plain border and palla is adorned with zari weaving.
Georgette is similar to Chiffon, but heavier. This durable fabric has a grainy, matte surface and is used to make beautiful sarees. The variations can be Jacquard georgette, Satin and Embroidered Georgette. The Embroidered georgette is embellished with thread work, sequins and beadworks. Georgette fabric is fabricated with plain weave alternatively with two tightly-spun S-twisted and Z-twisted threads in both warp and weft.
The Matte and wrinkled surface is due to the alternate twist direction of the thread. The tensile strength of the fabric is high and hence can hold embroideries well.
