The beautiful Mulberry Purple has zari and Meenakari More (peacock) and asharfi buttis all over the field. The Castleton Green border is Khawale Kath or pharaspeti kath and is woven with extra-warp technique.
These beautiful sarees get their name from the town Paithan historically Pratiṣṭhā , which is one of the oldest cities of the Deccan, is located 56 kilometres (35 mi) south of present-day Chatrapati Sambhajinagar on the banks of the Godavari River. Now they are also woven in Yeola in Maharastran.
