The four corners of the shawl are embroidered with large Paisley motifs (Koundar). The base fabric is luxurious pashmina hand weaved with the finest quality pashmina wool. Some researchers site that the Tilla Embroidery is said to have its origins back in the remote village of Zari in the North Khorasan Province, Iran. Its being stated that origins of embroidery of Tilla Dozi in Kashmir is atributed to Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA), one of the great Sufi saints, also known as Shah-e-Hamdan (RA), born in Hamadan, Iran.
